TONO Profiles: Matthew Wieber

Get to know our Architectural Designer, Matthew Wieber, LEED AP BD+C!

My name is Matthew Wieber.

I have worked at TONO Group since January, 2020.

It is my job to work collaboratively with project managers and architects through the design and documentation of a project from concept through to completion.

Something you’ll always find on my desk is my Pilot Razor Point pens, notebook and occasionally a cup of green tea.

Something I’ve learned from a co-worker is believe in yourself, and never be afraid to speak up and ask questions!

I’m currently working on several healthcare projects for our client Virtua, along with some renderings for marketing purposes.

Do you have any pets?

I have a one-eared cat named Cleopatra.

What’s one part of your daily routine that you’ll never change?

It doesn’t always happen but I try to cook every day.

What’s your favorite holiday and why?

I have a pretty large extended family so Thanksgiving has always been my favorite holiday. All of us get together and have a competitive game of flag football before sitting down to enjoy a never ending spread of food. And yes, we made matching t-shirts.

If you could be on any TV game show, which one would it be?

Probably “Whose Line Is It Anyway?”. I always enjoyed watching the show growing up and I think it would be pretty challenging going against those improv kings.

What’s the most incredible view you’ve ever seen?

I think it’s a tie between two views. The first is sitting in the freezing cold and watching the sunrise on Cadillac Mountain in Maine. It is known as “First Light” because it is the earliest place in the U.S. to witness the sunrise. The second view would be overlooking the city of Florence from Piazza Michelangelo.

Name an achievement, inside or outside of work, that you’re proud of.

I recently passed my first test for my Architecture Registration Exams! Five more to go….
