TONO Profiles: Juan Alvarez Jr.
WHO WE ARE. WHAT WE DO. HOW WE WORK.
Get to know our Architectural Designer, Juan Alvarez Jr!
My name is Juan Carloes Alvarez Jr.
I have worked at TONO Group since September 2025.
It is my job to support the design team by turning big ideas into buildable realities.
Something you will always find on my desk is a sketchbook, drafting pencil, protein shake, and an apple. Fuel for both creativity and productivity.
Something I have learned from a coworker is to always draft and think about how its going to be built. Ask yourself: Can the tools fit? Can the people build it? Good design is not just beautiful, it’s buildable.
What’s one part of your daily routine that you’ll never change?
I always listen to music to start off my day.
What is the best event/concert/show you’ve ever been to?
Believe it or not… the Taylor Swift Eras Tour. The stage design and production were on another level.
What’s your favorite hobby or past time when outside of the office?
Traveling across the country and exploring nature.
Do you have any hidden talents?
I love to draw. My favorite medium of art is graphite.
What was your favorite project to work on at TONO Group and why?
Covenant Fellowship Church has been my favorite project so far. It taught me a great deal about building codes and design solutions. I also worked with colleagues who challenged me and pushed my limits, helping me grow into a stronger architectural designer.
What is an achievement, inside or outside of work, that you are proud of?
Earning my Eagle Scout Rank. It taught me leadership and discipline and I was able to visit many places across the nation I didn’t even know existed.
If you could pass on one bit of knowledge to someone who might not understand what you do, what would you tell them?
Architecture is the art of turning space into feeling, shaping the way people live, move, and dream within the world we build.
