Get to know our Chief Financial Officer, Cathleen J. Anderson!

My name is Cathleen J. Anderson.
I have worked at TONO Group since May, 2018.
It is my job to handle the accounting processes (AP, AR, General Ledger, Fixed Assets, etc.), Payroll, and HR functions.
Something you’ll always find on my desk is a little yellow VW car that moves. I purchased it for $1 at a thrift shop as a keychain, but the chain was slowing it down. I let it ride along my desk when I need a stress break.
Something I’ve learned from a co-worker is make sure the juice is worth the squeeze. Great for financial decisions: is the cost worth the benefit? With children: is winning the fight worth losing the battle? And with fitness: Is the time/cost worth the benefits?
What’s one part of your daily routine that you’ll never change?
I don’t do it daily but I’m a sunset lover. I sit on our back deck and read until the sun is low enough, then watch until it sets.
What was the best concert you’ve ever been to?
Lady Gaga in Philly, 2017. I used to worry about my son listening to her (ARTPOP album I think), but now I’m a huge fan. Although he still skips certain songs when we’re listening in the car since they aren’t Mom appropriate.

Are you an early bird or a night owl?
Ha neither. I’m in bed by 9:30 pm most nights. Earlier since I started doing 5:00 am workouts Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. So, I am an early bird those days (since the juice is worth the squeeze).
If you could only have three apps on your smartphone, which would you pick?
Meetup for biking. Myzone for Heart rate fitness tracking. Calculator because I’m a numbers person, but I still like to double-check my work.

Name an achievement, inside or outside of work, that you’re proud of.
Finishing Tough Mudder 5k 2019 when I wasn’t in the best physical shape. Great support from my office mates helped me cross the finish line.

If you could pass on one bit of knowledge to someone who might not understand the work you do, what would you tell them?
At the most basic level, I enter the debits and credits and make sure the 10+ bank accounts don’t go negative 🙂
