Proto Profiles: Brittany Mellinger

Get to know PROTO Construction’s Office Coordinator, Brittany Mellinger!

My name is Brittany Mellinger.

I have worked at PROTO since November 2016.

My favorite lunch is a spicy chicken curry.

On a Saturday afternoon you’ll find me gardening or hiking.

My most loved tool is my tape measure. Measure twice, cut once!

Something useful I learned from my parents is always leave a place cleaner or better than you found it.

Something I learned from a co-worker is that consistency and process are crucial.

PROTO is where I work because I like being part of creating spaces in which people will enjoy living and working.

It’s my job to coordinate office logistics and welcome visitors to the PROTO office.

Q: How are you known to the PROTO team?

A: I make the strongest coffee in the office.

Q: What has working at PROTO taught you?

A: Nothing gets accomplished on your own; it takes everyone working together to get a seamless process and quality product in the end.

Q: What hobbies do you have? How do you spend time outside of work?

A: I spend as much time outside as I can.

Q: What’s an achievement (personal or professional) that makes you proud.

A: In 2016, I walked from Georgia to Maine, thru-hiking the Appalachian Trail.

Q: If you could pass on one bit of knowledge (#protoscollegeofknowledge) to someone who might not respect or understand the work you do, what would you tell them?

A: Write everything down! A good to-do list can be key to success in keeping track of many moving parts.
